Norma Kamali has been exploring the opportunities fashion and AI offer her brand. She has been passionate about technology since her first job at Northwest orient airlines as a reservations operator. She trained on a UNIVAC computer in 1964 and set up a website in the mid ‘90s and was one of the first on eBay in fashion and e-commerce. Norma took a Generative AI course on-line, live from MIT. She was one of 150 participants and came away from the course even moreenergized and inspired by the experience. She encourages her entire staff to download and use CHATGPT every day. They are and theresults are truly exciting. This marks beginning of a new chapter in her career and after 57 years as the sole owner of her company this may be the most transformative. Six years ago a global e-commerce company asked Norma if they could follow her around and download her brain. They were aware of the collection Norma did with Walmart and they wanted to create a collection using AI and her design approach and thought process. She passed on the idea but quickly found herself fascinated with the concept for her own company’s legacy. the future is here.
